Let\u2019s be real\u2014dating apps are a waste of time<\/strong>. Not because they don\u2019t work, but because most of you have no clue how to work them successfully. If you keep swiping with no results, you just might be the problem. Correction: You ARE the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

So have a seat, because while I am normally known for being over the top nice with my dating advice, today\u2019s it\u2019s time to break out some hard truths. Let\u2019s go over 10 reasons dating apps are a waste of time<\/strong> for you \u2014 and yes, it\u2019s all on you unless you fix the issues outlined below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

1. You Aren\u2019t Putting in the Effort<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dating apps aren\u2019t magic wands that summon your soulmate while you binge-watch 90 Day Fianc\u00e9<\/em> or play video games with a half-eaten pizza on your chest while sipping on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019re a full-time job, and you\u2019re treating them like a hobby that you don\u2019t even have to get your lazy ass off the couch for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re not spending at least an hour a day on these apps perfecting your skills and performing highly targeted searches, then stop whining about how \u201cno one good is on here\u201d or that dating apps are a waste of time.<\/strong> Love isn\u2019t going to fall into your lap any more than a six-figure salary will without a whole lot of effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. You Need to Work On Your Health<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You want a partner who\u2019s in shape, but you\u2019re not willing to put in the work yourself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s like showing up to a job interview in sweatpants and expecting to be CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition is fierce. If you\u2019re not hitting the gym, eating right, or at least pretending to take care of yourself, don\u2019t expect to land top-tier matches. Why should they stoop down to your level as opposed to you working your way to their level?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to be a fitness model, but if you really want to reach the highest quality matches, get your ass off the couch, throw the Twinkie’s out, and put in the effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I get it\u2014it\u2019s 2025, and women can express their sexuality however they want. But let\u2019s be brutally honest here: men still want to believe (however delusional it may be) that they\u2019re the first guy who\u2019s ever turned your head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to wear a nun\u2019s habit in your profile pic, but maybe ease up on the over-the-top thirst traps if you want a serious relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. You Are Practically Illiterate<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“I wanna meet some1 I can luv long time.” Are you serious? No wait. That\u2019s actually kind of funny (for me to laugh at you). But other than that, what the hell are you doing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can\u2019t string together a coherent sentence, just stop. Grammar and spelling matter. You don\u2019t have to sound like Shakespeare, but at least prove you passed middle school English.
